Feature: JUNGLE TRAP
Company: Mondo + Bleeding Skull
Role: Designer, Producer, Sound Editor, Video Editor, Musician
In 1990, legendary underground filmmakers Renee Harmon (LADY STREET FIGHTER) and James Bryan (DON’T GET IN THE WOODS) filmed JUNGLE TRAP, their final collaboration. But the movie was never finished. That is, until 2016, when a small team and I worked with director Bryan to complete and release the film. Annie Choi and I, as Taken By Savages, recorded a new soundtrack for the movie using era-appropriate synthesizers and drum machines. I also handled sound design and partial editing on the feature.
First released via limited edition VHS by Mondo, JUNGLE TRAP now has renewed life on Blu-ray (and in theaters) thanks to AGFA + Bleeding Skull. Since no promotional materials were ever created, I looked to vintage postcard photography and 1980s vector imagery to establish the mood for the cover art.
